6oz feeders

Hi Iv been in search for some 6oz feeders and I cant find them for love nor money does anyone have any idea where to purchase some big feeders from? can get 5oz no problem!

I make my own but google FFF feeders (Fisky Fantastic Feeders).
 
Cage feeders snag more readily in my opinion. Do you want the cage feeders for use now when the river is Low and Clear, or when its running? Also if its not holding bottom, put a bow out. By far the best route Wayne, if your going to be a Trent regular is to make your own.

Hi Wayne, I can recommend these feeders and have used them on the trent (non-tidal) Great camo finish if you need it or he can custom make them to your needs. I think his feeders go to 10oz!! :eek:

For now and for winter really Jon, Iv been using 5oz korums and putting a bow in the line. I don't really like using cage feeders as you have said I seem to loose alot more cage feeders and I believe that the bait escapes alot quicker than the open ended feeders. Making my own well I wunt really know were to start other than getting the lead and melting it down :).

The next time you go into Climax tackle. Have a chat to Dale, he makes all the feeders there.

Iv seen them on the site they've sold out though (typical) I'm just thinking ahead aswel for winter as I will be there all the time even on new years eve ;). And as goes for now il stick with the five and sixes but should imagine when it's well in flood I will probably be looking at 8-9oz but probably not feeders just grippas. Il ring Dale tomorrow and have a chat with him.

As I have never fished the Tidal Trent I couldn't comment. However I only used a 6oz lead when I used to go sea fishing and using a beach caster. Are even stepped up floods rods capable of casting these size of weights as it all sounds a bit risky to me?

Hi Stuart, there are a few fox rods out there that will do the job Iv just recently bought two 15' extreme barbel that are designed to handle the big weights needed for the TT in flood it took alot of research and alot of advise of lads on here to find them.

These are bullet proof and if i need to get some bait out then i attach the mother of home made feeders.....the feeder feeder:D
The 7oz feeder and its mother do get cast to the far bank when needed, never had a problem with rods exploding.........as yet that is:p:D:p

Never had a problem chucking 10oz with my 2.2lb rods...

Not that I ever need to chuck it more than 20/30 yards, considerably less when in flood.
 
Make your own and much cheaper:

- One of these CLICK HERE
- Some roofers lead.
- Large hair curlers from Home Bargains
- Powergum and swivels.
- Marker pens for colouring
