Being in the process of buying a trailerable boat for fishing the Thames,I've discovered that when licensing/relicensing a boat for use on the Thames as from next year,a proof of insurance is necessary.Could any boat owners out there give me an idea of which insurance company would give the required cover, and roughly what would the premium on a 12ft open outboard powered boat be.
Thanks in anticipation.

Pete.

I pay something like £6 a month for my boat/trailer/outboard.

I do mine via the NFU, but there are loads of 'boat' insurers out their...

I have a good few mates that run small boats all over the country, we had a discussion about boat insurance recently and these are a few that they recomended.....
Have a look at....

I use Navigators & General. I paid £68 to insure my 12ft Sea Nymph. Covers me for up to £3000 for the boat & trailer plus £3 million 3rd party liability.

Hi Neil,
