2 x Mark Tunley built free spirit Hi s 2.25 tc in mint condition only used 3 times painted sight tips and isotopes
£600 the pair to have these rods built by mark now would cost £880 for the pair …I will not post rods but would deliver a reasonable distance or meet half way

That’s the sight tip design that I came up with and used on all my own rods for years.

The black n white bands contrast and not only work really well against every background but it’s really clear in your peripheral vision. You can take your eyes off those tips and still be altered for a bite as they do grab your attention from the of the corner of your eye.

Nowadays it is the only barbel sight tip I use aswell. 3X 25mm bands. (2 white 1 isotope)

Rods an absolute steal (even for poxy free spirits🤣)

Rod porn - what are the actions like / how much casting weight can they handle?

Terrys in Stevenage.
I’m going up to Scotland on bank holiday Monday and travelling past many places. Terry is a good friend of mine so I would help him out if it’s needed
That's kind of you Rich, thanks. I'm tempted, but torn between these and a chimera 3's.

Hi Chris i would say they are a through action once they are tested … I have cast 5 oz with them but wouldn’t be afraid to go more … it’s what they are designed for but the clever part is they will cast big leads and feeders but still retain a very sensitive tip

An interesting sale Terry, you’ve not let the Isaacs fella talk you over to the other side? 🤣

Browning did a multi colour tip on their Feeder I had, the silverlite, 3 - 4 years ago, great rod. The colours stood out, but felt a little garish to my taste.

@Terry Harman i was so torn between these and the 2lb I had actuly ordered these spoke to bill went back to the tackle box and tried the 2lb again for some time and just liked how the 2lb was more responsive and a little less through until you really gave it some. There a wonderful rod these

I’ve seen these in action and used them nearly as much as Terry has 🤣 (like once) and in my honest opinion….. he’s selling them too cheap for custom builds.
I do enjoy ripping into Tel for his love of free spirit but if the truth be told they make a beautiful rod. I’m not just saying that to push his Ad as I have 2 hiS special power float rods myself.

They are a bit of an alrounder type barbel rod with serious guts. which is where they are different to the C3.
(C3 is just serious guts and doesn’t work very well with less than 3oz on imo)

These BWs have a sensitive tip and although they are powerful rods they are still quite fun with smaller barbel and 2oz leads but they’ll also cast 4/5 oz leads no problem.
The Hi S Bw will do anything but the most extreme of extreme.

The bit I really liked about them is they are bloody slim and bloody light for powerful barbel rods. It takes you by surprise if you haven’t picked one up before.

Was just wondering as I have 12' Torrix 2.25 (which I love) and the casting weight range is similar . . .are you replacing your Hi S with something else or just spring cleaning the garage?

The torrix 2.25 isn’t as stiff in the lower half as those free spirits bw rods which sounds unbelievable but the 2.25 torrix is quite stiff tipped and quite through actioned. It’s a very odd torrix. (Compared to the 12ft models either side of it)
I use one as a dead bait trotting rod and I love it. I reckon it would cast heavier payloads further than the BW,s but not as far or as accurate given the slower action and stiffer tip.
