Unfortunately as much as I like the thunnus reels since going Castizm there’s no way I could look at a shimano now for that job.

I absolutely love the Thunnus Jon. I’ve had several of them stripped down on my trusty bench now and they are a cracking reel.

I just prefer the castizm a little bit more for very good reason.
Line lay is a lot better due to the fact that the castizm has a proper oscillation worm drive. Thunnus does not.
Castizm has a wider longer nose spool and it casts better.
Castizm is lighter than the 6000 thunnus
Thunnus is oscillation driven via a gear which you can feel through the handle. Castizm you can’t feel a thing it’s seamless.

Thunnus has 1 area where it’s nicer than the castizm and that is a bearing assist clutch. Genius!!!! The spool sits over a bearing and there for zero friction between the spool and the plate which in turn will only make that clutch feel smoother.

So definitely a thunnus fan here I wanted a set for ages (ask Steve) however since getting the castizms I’ll definitely be sticking with them.

FYI. As far as salt water baitrunners go the thunnus is the best. Hands down. Better than my 6000D’s no question about it

Julian what handles did yours come with? Mine have the egg handle, which look odd at first, but ergonomically perfect and a joy to use.
