12ft Harrison Torrix 2.25lb (Dave Lumb build)

Hi Chaps,

I listed this rod a year or so ago but pulled the plug because I lost my nerve. However, it really is now time to let this one go- it's far too good to be sitting in its bag and not landing big fish for someone.

I have had this superb rod for just shy of two years after a swap with another BFW member. I caught my PB barbel with it on its first outing, but it hasn't had a lot of love since then as I tend to fish close in with an 11' GTi and a centrepin if I'm not float fishing.

The original owner commissioned Dave Lumb to build him a really versatile specialist rod. It has been used for big barbel on the Trent, it’s also been used for light deadbait fishing and landed some clonkers, a specimen tench and also some zander. You could think of it as a do (almost) anything specialist rod. I have used it once for pike, but I also have a pair of old classic Fox Predator XS so I lean towards those for piking.

It’s a lovely lightweight rod (under 200g I think) with eight Kigan guides (25mm butt ring but a 12mm tip ring so that weed and stop knots flow through it really easily). The handle was originally abbreviated, but I had a full cork handle fitted by Chas Burns as that was my preference. It has a Fuji seat and a nice big folding Fuji hook keeper for big hooks and strength.

It's in mint condition and has the original bag supplied by Dave Lumb which is also mint (see photos below).

I'm looking for £180 with collection in York.

PM's please if you are interested.
