11ft 2lb Torrix

First fish on the 11ft 1.75 today and my first fish from the Warwickshire Avon. There’s some serious grunt lower down the rod and I was glad for it at one point.

I had a bit of luck with the fish, was about to recast, boilie on needle, pva bag ready, then lifted the rod to reel in and was into a fish. Perfectly lip hooked as well. Only the second time that’s ever happened to me.

Compared to a more through actioned rod I found it much nicer for wallis casting a 2oz lead and little pva bag. The crispness certainly helped. It has a lovely feel and sensitive bite indication. I think it will take a bit of getting used to how it bends in the middle third but I’m certainly happy with it. It has filled the gap I wanted, so thank you all for your input.
