    Re-equipping

Assuming you mean a barbel rod, 3 piece Barbel rods are quite far and few between!

    A conflict of interest?

Unbelievable, we and the AT/Fish Legal need to get all over this sharpish 😳

Are you happy to pay to watch fishing videos?

    I wouldn't pay.

    Flood water reels

I get that mate, I've fished big flooded rivers all over Europe but would still only change my rods, not my reels! Only my opinion, each to his own ;)

    Flood water reels

Struggling to see why anyone would need to have a specific "Floodwater" reel? In floods I change many things but not my very reliable Shimano XAero 4000's 😳

Item of tackle you wish you hadn't sold.

Do tell Derek, what was it?

    Tares

Hi Cliff I used to use Tares for various fish and would soak in salt water overnight then add any additional flavours (they take flavour well) before boiling in the same way as Hemp, although you do not want them to split if possible. Keep doing a "pinch test" by squeezing between your thumb and...

Fishing the swim next to someone

The problem on a lot of club waters is that most clubs state a 20-25m distance between swims so very hard to complain. Bottom line is communication between anglers before fishing. I have to say though that those of you who think 50m is reasonable need to come and fish down in Dorset ;)

    Boom!

As someone who attaches my PVA bags to the lead with a Ronnie Swivel at the moment, these look like a simpler solution ;)

    Boom!

Hi Stewart Just a thought , but maybe you are heading in the wrong direction making your 'boom' section stiffer? Personally I use 3 different mono/flouro sections depending on the river substrate Asso flouro 14lb, Greys flouro 13lb or Preston Reflo Power .24 (11lb) but in all cases never use a...

    Hook types...

Brilliant hooks, especially in the smaller sizes. I landed my previous Barbel PB of 14.9 on a size 16 MWGB 😳 That said, I was actually fishing for Chub on the feeder at the time. If I am fishing for a 'Lump' I prefer the Korda Kaptor wide gape which can be found at bargain prices if you shop...

    Lesson Learnt. Rod Posting

Also, not all buyers are honest and tell the seller that the rod arrived damaged!! Who gets the blame? The couriers won't accept responsibility so it is between you and the purchaser, try proving them wrong 😏 I will not send a rod through the post under any circumstances😏

    Me too 👍

    Running or fixed

Hi Terry I use both running and Semi Fixed rigs depending on the achievable presentation (normally based on weed growth). I would never fish a fully fixed lead rig for any fish (just my choice). That said I don't think a semi fixed rig gives an advantage when Barbel fishing, but each to their own;)

    ESP LowPro MK2 Shelter

I have the Korum Graphite Brolly Shelter and although heavier, it is superb and very stable in harsh conditions ;)

    Low stretch mono

I can't think of a single good reason for using Low Diameter/ Pre Stretched lines for Barbel fishing!! They give no advantage at all but several disadvantages ;) especially in waters with copious weed growth;)
