***WANTED *** fox duolite specialist twin tip 1.75lb/2.25lb.

Hope you get a good one, I had a pair of them and was disappointed with the build quality. The reel seats on both came loose on the handles, and both 1.75 tips broke under normal fishing pressure. Now replaced with Greys Prodigy TXL's which are much better.

    Vehicle of choice

You're probably right, the Yeti originally was based on the early Tiguan and shared engines and running gear with the Golf. The greatest thing about it is that still handles well even with the boxy SUV body, also it has character, not something you could accuse the Karoq of!

    Vehicle of choice

Mine is the Greenline 1.6 diesel, turning in 57+mpg.

    Vehicle of choice

My fishing/every day vehicle was a Vauxhall Astra Estate for many years but replaced it with a low mileage 15 month old Yeti 7 years ago and have loved every day using it. Cannot understand why Skoda discontinued it and replaced it with the Karoq, a complete non-entity that looks just like any...

    korum super lite river brolly

The tilt fixing sounds a 'mare, that was the worst feature of the old Wavelock tilt. The Fox Specialist works fine for me, never used it with storm poles but find it very stable in strong winds when it's properly pegged down. Loads of room and easy to set up even on sloping banks.

    Isotopes

My isotopes are getting a bit tired (so are my eyes!), so just invested in these, not used yet but tested indoors and they a re pretty bright...

    Roach

Been catching the odd roach from the Severn this season, picking up my single pellet hookbaits. Decided to target them last week with a lighter tip rod and had 5 ranging from 12ozs to 1.07. Yesterday afternoon I returned to the same swim for another try, two rods this time. Started off with...

Pegging an access rope on the Severn

Dog spikes work fine, provided you screw them all the way in, might be a bit difficult at present with the ground being baked hard! Another tip worth thinking about is to knot the rope at intervals, helps to get a grip when it's wet and slippery. Last tip, for when it finally rains again and...

    North Western Rod

That would almost certainly be Davis Tackle, just around the corner from the Royalty. They currently market an Avon Special which is based on a Harrison blank, the North Western would have been an older version I guess.

    Polaris floats. Anyone got any,

I have a couple hidden away, must get them out when tench season starts. Also got a sidewinder bite indicator somewhere, not used that for best part of 30 years!

    Split cane rod

I started my barbel fishing back in the 60's, initially with a cheap rod comprising whole cane butt and middle and a fibre glass top section. I was lucky enough to live just around the corner from a shop called Eggintons, myself and my friend both commissioned built cane Avon rods from the...

    finding the impossible Boot ??????

Muckboots definitely don't last, the soles come away from the uppers. I opted for these when I replaced my Muckboots...

    Twaite Shad

Years ago, before they were granted protected status, we used to target the shad run at Builth. The Irfon confluence pool used to be full of them, and they would hit anything silver. The numbers were unbelievable, the bottom of the pool would be covered in the carcasses of the ones that had died...

    Fox FX verses Fox Duo

I had a pair of the Duo Lite, found the quality was pretty poor. Both reel seats came loose on the butt, and both 1.75 tips broke. Got rid and replaced with Greys Prodigy specimen, much better rods.

what size pellets do you use on hair rig

I've been having great success this season using single 8mm pellets, even now that the Severn and Wye have finally got some extra water on. I tie a medium Drennan band to 0.24 Reflo Powerline, then knotless knot that to a size 12 guru MWG so that when I insert a pellet in the band it is almost...

    SOLD - Drennan Matchpro

Matchpro's are greatly underrated, I have a 13' one and it's my favourite float rod, handles anything from dace up to medium barbel.

    GR60 Line

Never tried anything but Big Game in 10 and 12lb rating, luckily I still have bulk spools that I bought in Florida back in 2019, will hopefully top my stocks up again next year. For lighter lines I use 8lb Sensor, find that too springy in the higher diameters.
