    Yeah I'm friends with Mike, salford friendly anglers chairman. He's still after an irwell barbel after many years of trying. I must be a sucker for punishment as I love the challenge, knowing there are so few of them in there.

    Yeah, it's a stones throw from mine, just over the canal (upper part of Bolton,Bury canal) quicker to walk than to drive. I'll post any progress on here.

    Darent Valley 13ft 2 piece specialist float rod.

    I have one of them Darent valley rods, I was surprised at how heavy it was. Only used once and had a few trout to about 2lb which it was fine for, but my arm was aching a bit after an hour trotting in the middle of the river. On the other hand, The 8ft quiver is absolutely brilliant for the price.
