Like Terry I’ve used a few different baits over the years,gone from meat to pellet,anything with anchovy came next,then onto Quest baits for a while followed by Nutrabaits River Plus and latterly Retro Baits Animal( sadly Nick stopped making bait) Still got a small amount left,when that’s gone...
Just a personal thing.I think once the feeder is empty (large block end) it could be moved about by the current and is quite conspicuous,whereas a 3oz gripper holds bottom better and is less visible,as I say,just a personal thing.

The advantage of a solid pva bag is that each time you cast with one attached there is a number of pellets,maggots etc going downstream directly in line with your hook bait,got to be the most accurate way to draw fish towards the said hook bait.

First session today along with my Son Richard and Grandson Archie,between us we had 11 tench (Ric 7,Archie 3 and 1 for me) plus a bonus 3lb perch for me and a 1-14 eel for Archie.Top tench was a 6-8 cracker for Ric,all the others were in the 5-2 to 5-4 bracket.A great day,can’t wait to do it...
