    River tripod recommendations

Looking at getting a 2 rod tripod. The korum ones have mixed reviews, what others do people use and anyone use a sea tripod and adapt the front bar to take alarms or rests? They seem alot better build quality.

Fox DUO-LITE SPECIALIST TWIN TIP 1.75/2.25lb

Great condition rod, comes with 1.75lb and 2.25lb avon tips. Slight wear on the reel seat paint. Been trying to find another to make a pair but with no luck so I've bought a couple of other rods instead. £100, collect from Alton Hampshire

    Boilie favourites/recommendations?

John Baker Baits, make your own and experiment. Wouldn't use anything else for Barbel.

    Matching a reel to 11ft 2lb Torrix

    3500b baitrunners

    Shimano Baitrunner size comparison

Very similar in size, the 4500b is front drag and far superior in my opinion. Probably a little heavy for barbel fishing, I use them for pike deadbaiting.

    Fluorocarbon mainline

I'll be back leading so the first 6ft will be pinned down, with a fairly uniform bottom compared to the Wye so they shouldn't come into contact with it.

    Fluorocarbon mainline

The x line does look low in diameter compared to the breaking strain so might up it to 12 or even the 15lb. It's a small snaggy river so can be very hit and hold in some swims.

    Fluorocarbon mainline

Thanks Paul, I'm Targeting the Wey through Surrey this year, it's generally clear and weedy hence my thought on using fluorocarbon. I'll look into x line, what breaking strain do you use?

    Fluorocarbon mainline

Yes, wouldn't entertain fluorocarbon for float fishing.

    Fluorocarbon mainline

    Ledgering, small low stock river.

    Fluorocarbon mainline

Time to respool my reels, anybody use fluorocarbon on a centrepin reel and how was it? I'm a massive fan of Gardner mainlines so was looking at mirage but is there better out there? Thanks.

    Yateley Angling kennet barbel rod

Can anyone give me any info on this rod I picked it up the other day? 11ft, roughly 1.5lb. Any idea on blank? Looks like a Ballista with the spiral finish. Thanks
