I was tempted too as i changed from ATTx to TLB+ for the versatility which the new ATTa now has but have decided to keep the TLB’s. It all comes down to which you prefer to look at i think and i like mine. They are pretty bombproof and the twisty bit on the new ATTa’s might prove unreliable...
The deeper is fine & the attachment on the phone works well. I was worried that i’d cast my phone off into the lake on a good cast but not, it’s really secure! Really easy to use and you can build a detailed picture of a lake in no time (without paying any subscription)
I’ve got the drennan & ESP one (basically the same with different size clips to suit the rucksack) and find them excellent. Light & well made, pegging points and can use either flat or cradle style
I’ve got the Fortis version which i used to strap to a storm pole with velcro straps when i was walking miles on the canals after Perch. Surprised nobody does one with a long spike on as they are just enough to keep you and a bit of gear dry
I’ve gone from the standard 1mtr to around 2ft (or shorter sometimes). Every session is slightly different and i swap and change depending on conditions & how they are biting (same with baits) I’ve always done that and it probably comes from my match type fishing back in the day where you have...
I’ve got the Drennan specialist (the one with stormsides?). Great quality brolly but not particularly light and it only just squeezes in my 2 rod quiver. The Drennan 44” normal brolly would be better for roving. Again, great quality but a bit smaller/lighter
NuFish do a 45” eco brolly for less than £30. Not seen one but they say its very light and if its anything like the rest of their products it will be well made. Might be worth emailing them for a weight. They do answer emails and are very helpful. Had a few thing off them over the years and all...
As much as i dont like Korum, the ‘river brolly’ has been great! Really light, short back for sloping banks and so far (after 2 years) hasn’t leaked.
There is a market for a smaller, perhaps 39” brolly in my mind but this fits the bill for now.
Cant think of anything really ‘revolutionary’ that has come out in recent years?
It’s all re-hashing or over complicating old, standard designs or bringing things out for the sake of trying to invent something they think we need!
Some of the ridiculous items brought out for the bivvy...
Looks like something Korum would bring out but probably made better. Looks like it would be a pig to carry & yes i think you would 🤣
‘Fox bivvy commode’
I originally bought the 26” but use that for Tench now as i found it a bit small, even for modest Barbel. The 32” is perfect and is slightly smaller than other 32” nets as the arms bend inwards slightly under tension. The depth is fine also, not too deep to get caught on everything but certainly...
I used the original Berkley version for quick trips squeezed in on the local canals. Thought they’d be great to keep in the car so i’d always have something to fish with for perch. Very realistic & have a scent but never really did very well on them so stopped using them (must admit i didn’t do...
I always find this interesting ‘i have found them to outfish Halibut 2-1’
By that evidence, they must be twice as good however, i tried them for a season & didn’t really do very well. Did slightly better on the Hinders elipse but noticeably better on Dynamite Halibut.
Everyone has a favourite...
Tried all sorts of fancy things over the years but Dynamite Marine Halibut seem as good as anything to me and are ready available at a good (ish) price. I’ve been using them as feed though (6&8mm) with a 12mm halibut boilie on the hair
