It’s a weird place, it is a bit early I agree, first trip I lost one on prawn, no fizzing, second trip caught one on pellet, no fizzing, last night fizzing like mad and no bites on anything. It’s just a case of working it out, I feel like I’ve currently caught by accident rather than by design...

That’s an awesome fish Cliff. I blanked this evening, did my usual routine… rake, bait and float fish over the top. Had an area about the size of a double bed fizzing like a jacuzzi for almost 2hrs with tench feeding but despite the fact my float was in amongst it and even being knocked around...

If I’m using boilies I use Tincaberry, however as others have said it can take a while to get them. They do always arrive though.

I have no choice as my club either requires one and even checks it in an induction at one venue or provides nets and mats at others, but totally get where you are coming from. I don’t sterilise mine but I do hose it off after a session, it lives outside hanging in the sunshine, and is always dry...

Biggest thing for me is my guru fusion unhooking mat that zips up in half and has a shoulder strap too so doubles up as a bag. That on one shoulder with bait, net and bank stick inside, small rucksack with bits and food, rod, net handle and that’s it. I use the same for chub, barbel, grayling...

I use one of these, spot on for the money. Maggots in one side, hemp/meat/corn in the other (both in freezer bags for less cleaning)
