    W R Products Speedia arbors

I'm not on BookFace sadly. If I owned a Speedia I might well give it a go though.

When is an upgrade really an upgrade?

Yep, I listed my Match 2 yesterday evening after some private correspondence with Mr. Isaacs.

Clive, re the Speedia arbour, how well have they performed (assume you've tested them)? They look well made, but they also look very shallow. They don't look dissimilar to the Hardy Conquest arbour shape actually.

No time waste Alec, it’s all good conversation 😊

When is an upgrade really an upgrade?

Some good comments here- thank you for bothering to reply :) This thread is already moving toward a discussion of Torrix rods (quelle surprise!) and that's okay. I'll just mention that I appreciate the general sense of "Go for it!", "You can't take it with you..." and "If you can afford it..."...

    Definitely!

When is an upgrade really an upgrade?

Aye, perhaps. It’s the conversation and angles of approach to the question that make it interesting to me though 🤓

When is an upgrade really an upgrade?

I started writing up an inventory of my rods and reels this weekend. I wanted to take some time to reflect on what I have and what I like or dislike about those things. It also gave me the opportunity to think clearly about any items I may want to upgrade and why. One of the rods I have a...

Have you got any spare bits to reassemble the ratchet on a TFG Clive? I mean the sliding switch on the backplate etc.

    J. W. Young & Sons Trudex Mk 1

Hi all, Here’s an old warrior if anyone wants a reel that will take abuse and they’re not fussy about looks etc. It was originally black, but I have stripped back the paint on the outside. Decent ratchet and tensioner works fine. Handles are spot on. It wobbles, but it’ll still run a float...

    Cheaper pins

What Richard said 👍🏻 I’ve got a Triton and it’s brilliant. It is also pretty robust, so as long as you’re not chucking it down on gravel or not looking after it well it will handle the abuse just fine.

Shakespeare 15' B1 Specailist float rod

I coveted a blue Shakey box when I lived on the south coast in my early teens. Would have been brilliant for my beachcasting expeditions. Had a massive old wicker basket instead that stank of rotten squid 😂

Korum waist trotting tray, Is this a good or dumb idea?

The cadence bait aprons don’t look too bad for fishing from the bank, but no good for wading above knee deep or so.

Korum waist trotting tray, Is this a good or dumb idea?

Snap! I have one of those Drennan pouches too. I like that it holds its shape unlike the ESP one, and also that it is trivially easy to clean being made of EVA on the inside. Nice idea about the yoghurt pot... I was wondering what I would use to do the same thing to keep casters and hemp...

Korum waist trotting tray, Is this a good or dumb idea?

It’s the kind of thing I’d want to try first because it looks a bit gimmicky. However, because it looks a bit gimmicky I’m not going to give it a try 🤷🏻‍♂️

What luggage bag for roaving with a float rod?

Looks brilliant, but what it really doesn’t look is 125 quid! 😮
