    Interest in baits

Brocacel doesn't work with fish meals , only carbohydrates, used in feed for beef production, more yield from feed that as brocacel added Found it very interesting, even mentions John Baker under his breath

    Combi rig - This season’s rig nonsense/improvement

That’s not how I tie mine , it’s 8/9 up and 4 down and back through the loop the same way you went through it , that version is just 10 down , no idea if that works , never used it . I’ve found it totally reliable and when pulling for a break the mainline/ hook link usually goes or the hook...

    Combi rig - This season’s rig nonsense/improvement

I just tie an allbright knot , less weight less knots and if tied correctly it’s as strong as the main line / braid

Seems a worrying bit of news .

Yeah I think there localised above Taddy bridge ! Look at the Leeds DASA matches at Ulleskelf one barbel being caught , that’s not right . Some say a lot have ended up in the Ouse with the winter floods etc plus cold spring right when they were going to spawn , last year saw a drop off around...

Seems a worrying bit of news .

Ive been fishing the Wharfe last few weeks and there is a noticeable lack of barbel about , especially downstream of Tadcaster bridge , recent years it’s been full of em ! There’s 3 storm outflows just around the bridge alone , let alone the ones above the bridge. How this is legal and being...

    'Nuts' for Carp?

Better to seek forgiveness than asking for permission? Besides you have a solid argument in that they are not a nut 😊

    A new Carp lake.

And to think I sold all my carp gear in 1997 because I thought it was getting too commercialised.

    Youngs Pin ratchet spring

I took the spring out and it was twisted slightly, bent it back into shape , there was also some crud behind the fulcrum point were it slides up and down with the spring, that probably wasn’t helping either. I might order another spring to be on the safe side . Thanks for the offer Rich but I...

    Youngs Pin ratchet spring

The ratchet spring on my Youngs S/L pin is coming adrift onto the backplate all the time , can’t see a way of adjusting it , I generally push it back on the pawl with some forceps from the outside , but it’s getting a pain now Ends up like this … Then I push it back on ending up like this...

    Best waders

I’ve a pair Simms G3 waist waders , had them around 15 years now , expensive at the time but they’ve lasted and don’t leak , like wearing a pair of heavy jeans, I can walk for miles in them and forget I’m wearing them . Also have the Simms guide boot to go with them and there the same ...

    Custom rod builders

I used Dave Lumb last year for a pair of Chimera 3s , I live in Leeds and spent the 90mins to go and pick them up Great to deal with and does an excellent job 👍

Bit of fun... What's everyone's preferred boilie of choice

I used Grange in 1995 , got it straight from Mainlines factory at the time , great bait ! Although never used it for Barbel

Bit of fun... What's everyone's preferred boilie of choice

Not sure I’ll use another off the shelf boilie for barbel , just make my own now , I find it’s more effective and cheaper, plus I vary flavours and levels depending on venue. Size and shape also infinitely variable. It’s a win win for me .
