Thanks for your replies chaps,I can see the advantages of using braid when rolling meat or touch ledgering as more in contact with the fish and bites but for float fishing personally I think I would prefer the added shock obsorbsion of mono but must stress I don't do any of these but it all...
I can understand that Chris and I have used it for fishing long range for roach and bream myself and can see the advantage for bite detection but know people that use braid for barbel and will argue black and blue how much better it is but I cant see it hence the question, cheers
can someone please explain the advantages of using braid for Barbel fishing, personally I use mono because in my mind it provides a shock absorber with the stretch it provides but braid has no stretch whatsoever and I think because of this there is always a danger of the fish doing damage to its...
Jrc not a bad budget alarm Joe,my mate had a set for four years and ready for a change this year but to do four years with this guy who's really hard on his gear to me is a worthy recomendation, Think they were the jrc Dr alarms .

The troublesome plastic line guards on mine don't seem to last long before I need to replace them but they are becoming hard to find so since the beginning of the season I have been using the reels without...
Absolutely agree with you Phill, there's only one way to determine the weight of a fish and that's to weigh it, personally I only weigh a fish if I think it may be a double and the number of times I've been wrong is remarkable, there's a chap on our syndicate who insists he can guess weigh...
to be honest Bob I think your right but not only Nash all the manufacturers, we seem to have gone on to a two piece rod culture as it is and to be honest it does not suit myself and God knows how many others have the same problem when getting the rods into the motor without rearranging the car...
Maybe a strange question but does anyone still make a three piece barbel rod (not carp rods)I don't mind setting up on the bank but will make it a lot easier to get in the motor. thanks
Gave it a good cleaning today Richard pulled the cloth through twice and couldn't believe the amount of crap that came out and sprayed on the WD then pulled the cloth through again and left it I'm the sum for a couple of hours copper slipped the screw and works like a good un and dare I say...
