21lb 2oz Barbel was had from the Wensum a few years back. Pictures were posted but alas the Otters have decimated the Wensum and Barbel are a very rare species on the Wensum now.

Barbed hooks should be banned.I eject anybody found fishing in my lakes with barbed hooks."Brabed hooks do less damage than barbless"is often quoted by inadequate anglers.Well thats my view.
Had a few nice Barbel out of the Wye(9lb biggest),Have not fished the Wensum much at all but have given the Pike on the Broads a good go and have had several nice ones(21lb biggest).
