Not sure if it's the size you want Chris. I buy my from Hunters Farm MK. The big roundabout at the bottom of the A5 in MK. Behind the McDonald's.

    Day / night ticket waters . . .

I looked at notts feds, the website is not working properly or wasn't. I went with the Newark book instead. However the only night venue is opposite A1. Only for one season. At £55 I thought better value than a1 at £15 @ 24 hours. Done two nights the other week. Woke up the second morning and...

    Heat!

I've been out a couple of evenings on the float, at the tail of a weir pool. Some small chub and decent roach. 3lb line so I don't think I'd have to worry about realising a barbel.

    Another tackle shop going

It's a shame. Two shops in Oxford have closed recently. I've been told. Browns in Leighton Buzzard closed at the end of the year too. Made me think. When you just need something for tomorrow eg maggots or worms. Where do you go? Lucky my local is still open. Otherwise it's a 40 mile round trip...

    Daiwa QD Reels

Happy new year all. I much prefer qd reels to bait runners. As I've commented previously. I set the drag by being able to pull line off myself. Turn the drag cap 180 degrees backwards (freespool). When I get a take, turn it forward 180 and bend the rod into the fish. If i need to apply more...

Congrats to the captor. I'm interested in knowing when he caught it. All the flooding of late. This week the pressure has been very high.

    Catching at any cost

I've done a little float fishing on the Severn. It certainly took me longer to bring them in, than it does on a feeder. 62 fish is quite a catch return. If you go upstream of that fishery. There's some free stretches. The river is only a few metres wide and shallow. Amazing how some otters...

    Off the shelf Barbel rods

Went to Feltham this morning, to pick up that 2.25 basia. Made a 2nd offer which he accepted. After landing a couple on the Trent midweek (1st proper fish I've hooked on my other basia). I thought just buy it.

I know Richard but the lowest I've seen is £280. I've been looking for a 2nd hand one.

I don't find it a problem either. Only problem I've had is when Breaming (yes) and or Tenching. Wrapping up,it can catch on it. However I think I've overcome that. You're not thinking of parting with yours Huanzhou? 😉
