Calm down Neil 😃 I’m with you on this….but Unfortunately a lot of fishermen are obsessed about size!
And as plenty of old girlfriends have told me ‘size isn’t everything’
Being size obsessed is just being insecure!
I still haven’t caught a river carp by design, but when I do, a carp of ANY size...
Excellent tip Damian, thanks
I cook up my own hempseed and freeze but always a pain to defrost, plus I take up a whole drawer in the freezer these days with bait and groundbait.
Do you have to dry your hempseed before sealing? Or can you seal when wet?
Hope this isn’t a silly question….
Blaze on freeview showed ‘Big Cat Britain Declassified’ yesterday afternoon.
It’s available on catch-up if you have the app downloaded if anyone’s interested.
Never fished the Wye before and Just received my Hereford & district membership, can someone please let me know if conditions are any good for a bit of float fishing for chub/silvers over next couple of days?
I’ve looked at the levels but it’s near 90 mile round trip, I have bread and maggots😀...

I caught my first...
Great info this, I fish the deeper, slower reaches of the Severn and wavon where the flow is never at my feet. I’ve held on to fish for what feels like 10-15 mins before they kick off, will definitely be trying this…thanks
I was fishing the Warwickshire Avon, the whole stretch is 7footish deep and evenly paced, it must have happened a few minutes after a cast, maybe a hour after I started, the fish surfaced like a dolphin once and a few seconds later a mass of bubbles then nothing. Thought at the time it must...
Thanks for everyones help,
Makes sense that fish leap or crash out probably to dislodge parasites,
And just rolling and taking a big gulp of air to clean the gills out,
Maybe a little bit of fun…
But have to agree with Mike, it’s got to be ‘the Barbel version of the
Two fingered salute’ 🏆
Out yesterday fishing with a swim feeder for barbel and had a good sized barbel roll right above it, then a couple of seconds later a load of bubbles appeared, then nothing. This focused my efforts for the remainder of the evening somewhat!
I sat on my hands ignoring the chub knocks waiting for...
