    Chasing chub....

Not the easiest bait to collect, for starters, Ian ! I keep a few grub heavy bits of the nest to get the grubs out, and the rest goes in the magimix with some bread ( when her indoors isn't about, it's bad enough getting the nest in the first place). This makes a sticky paste for groundbait but...

Coming over from Ireland to fish the Wye. (Bucket list trip) . Any info appreciated

Much will depend on the level when you are fishing. If it's well up could be a question of just trying a lump of meat anywhere you can get a lead in....

    Scales

I had a set of flyweights that were awful, cheap, nasty and inaccurate, so they got bined. I don't weigh a lot of fish so just bought a pair of the tiny cheap luggage scales off Ebay as a replacement. 3 years on, and they still work fine, only just on their second set of batteries, and every...

    Youngs River Specialist Centrepin....

Great reels, but for trotting check lever far too stiff, imo.

    Best waders

I get through loads of pairs, I'm a very regular small stream Trout fisherman mainly, and none of them last that long doing this. Imo you have to try waders on, even if you later buy online, too snug and the seams will be buggered in no time, too baggy and fabric in the leg area will constantly...

    Best waders

Fishing for barbel with Cralusso Floats - Richard Easom

Allow plenty of time, it'll take you an hour just to put the float together, let alone plumb it up correctly.......

Bob James 4.5 x1 centrepin (plus others to come in listing)

I would say not as well, the rachet is too weak, imo.
