    Original Korum Neoteric Twin Tips

If you know, you know. These are great barbel rods and the 2.2 top is perfect for specimen tench fishing on big pits. I'm not selling these (I have my full quota!) but came across them on Facebook Marketplace. I asked the seller if I could share the link on here and he gave the OK. It's...

    Big Cat sightings

My comment was in response to Neil's remarks about anglers being equipped and in all the right places, but yet have not filmed a big cat.

    Big Cat sightings

Have you ever seen a pine marten in England while fishing? I have, in North Yorkshire, but didn't get the chance to film it. Have you seen footage from any other anglers? If not does it mean they don't exist? Obviously not because they are filmed by those who setup hides etc. I had a big cat...

As apex predators, surely these beasts would be aware of us first? Yes, humans are the apex predator, but only if armed, trained and specifically on the hunt for them. As anglers, we're not.

2.25lb rods, which won’t break the bank?

The original korum neoteric twin tip rods with 1.75 and 2.2 tops are great rods. A pair on sale on marketplace https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/7798866383486062/ Nothing to do with me, as I'm keeping my three rods fir big pit tenching(as well as barbel fishing 😁).

    Tench 2024

I use Jungle Formula with Deet. Probably not good for one's health or the environment but, given the choice, far better than multiple bites and days of itching and scratching! You and I must he in the group that seem to attract them but don't get me going on midges!

As one mate put it, "welcome to the double club!" A new PB of 10.2

    Richard Isaacs spopper. Now sold

This may be OK to do at some venues, but many insist on a float being fitted to spombs in case of crack-offs (so they don't become underwater snags). Being weighted, Spoppers risk becoming a problem if you do have a line break. Just an observation.

    Not what I expected!

Thanks for all the 'likes' everyone. It certainly made up for the dire winter conditions and is a fish I'm unlikely to beat in the future.....but I'll never say never. Here's to the fly-fishing season and tenching and carping on still waters until the rivers reopen.

    Not what I expected!

Two weeks ago, a PB pike of exactly 25lbs whilst perching on a Yorkshire river. I was somewhat under-gunned with a 0-7g rod and a soft plastic lure on a single hook. Add to that a landing net that definitely wasn't designed with such a fish in mind. A hair-raising fight ensued and I experienced...

    Unhooking mat or not?

Whilst anyone using barbless hooks may argue they can easily unhook a fish in a landing net and return it safely without the need for a mat, what if you're fishing from a high bank and can't get to the fish (at river level) once it's netted?

    Storing floats for stalking?

    Just seen this on Facebook

Anyone had any scary/paranormal experiences on the bank?

Whilst fishing on the Nidd I did have the hairs on my back bristling when what appeared to be a BIG black cat (definitely non-domestic) raised it's head briefly in the tall undergrowth on the opposite bank. Took my breath away!

Anyone had any scary/paranormal experiences on the bank?

Only ever suffered this on one occasion. I can vouch for it being an unbelievable experience! Fortunately, not whilst fishing.
