    Digital Scales

Interesting thread this and having owned a set of Fox Digitals for around 15 years that have never been calibrated and bounced around in the bottom of my rucksack on countless sessions, it certainly got me thinking. I've access to a laboratory at work which has an analytical balance that is...

    Reasons for Barbel population decline

Graham, That post really was made with tongue firmly in cheek! Just being a bit mischievous and highlighting some of the more outrageous suggestions. No wish to toe the party line - my thoughts are entirely my own and you already know what they are. That doesn't mean I don't think some of...

    Reasons for Barbel population decline

Lee, they aren't the theories of the BS mate, just those of some it's members. I think that needs. To be made clear.

    Reasons for Barbel population decline

Lee, that really is the most sensible post I've read on this topic, period. Something with real substance and not clouding the issue with hypotheses of homosexual and diabetic barbel! Thankyou

    Korum Hooks.

Pallatrax 'The Hook'. Available in sizes from 16 up to 6 I think. Strong, sharp and never had a problem with them. Great for all sorts of applications.

    Korum Hooks.

Very prone to blunting as well when fishing over gravel or rock unfortunately.

    Hemp and caster

Some good points above but I'd disagree that the method is non-selective. Sure, you'll get all sorts of species eating your loosefeed, but the way the hookbait is presented for me is what makes it selective. The stretch of Trent I'm fishing is like an aquarium for all species - hoardes of...

    Hemp and caster

Howard, I use fluorocarbon for 90% of my fishing. Not everyone's cup of tea but works for me and have found no reason to change.

Greys Prodigy VX Specialist Float is a great rod for barbel fishing on the Trent. I have the 15ft version. Loads of backbone, and no poker either.
