I would like to highly recommend the drennan specimen microbarb hook range. The size 10 is very strong for its wire diameter and penetrates really well.
This is first hand ( my left ) experience today. Went into my thumb behind the nail with no bother. But ouch what a "B" to get out.
First tench outing of the season. Had one about 4lb after an hour, then another wait before both rods went off in the space of two minutes. First in the net was 5.2 and the second a new p.b. 7.12.

If you know someone who does wood turning it would be easy for them to make new handles. They could be thicker, longer or both.
There is probably a wood turning group near you, ask at your library. These guys usually have a lathe in their shed and lots of lovely wood.

Had line through both a gti and a torrix last week to compare with my Trevor West.
Amazed how much "softer" the through action gti was. The Torrix and t.w. were very similar, the different ringing probably making the slight difference.
Nothing great as a catch report, but that doesn't mean I had a bad season. Lots of super memories to keep me smiling during the close season.

Have used Bank Tackle barbless wide gape for probably 10 years now. Never really had a problem with losing fish and feel happy I am doing minimal injury.
