Jack, I've purchased all my quality gear from guys on this site. They are a smashing set of anglers and always give you a true description of what they are offering. I'm sure someone will have just what you need.
Good luck.
Jim, I love Trefor's books and I even fish with one of his 11' barbel rods. But most of his writing relates to waters holding many more fish than the venues we fish today. He writes about feeding small numbers of pellets and watching the barbel reactions. I would love to do that, but on the...
Having somewhat hijacked Alan's thread regarding a search for a 11' Torrix (sorry Alan), I thought I would open a specific one 're Lone Angler products.
If you've read Alan's post, you will know I own an 11' * 1.75 Trefor West Barbel rod.
This I have compared to a Torrix and although very...

Not sure how the two lengths compare, but I had mine along side a 11' Torrix and put a good bend in both and the curves looked the same. I've been told before that...
Yes, love my Trefor West. The Torrix I have is the standard dark grey.
I have used them both together and I am no expert, but the action is the same as far as I can tell, just a little difference in the ringing and butt length.
Alan,
I have only recently " lost my cherry" to centre pin river fishing and am really enjoying it.
I have a tfg reel which I originally purchased for close range carp fishing. It's a nice reel, but I fancy something older ( still talking reels here). Looking at the mechanics, speedia, trudex...
Thanks Richard, beautiful pictures and a great description. Really enjoyed reading your report.
I'm certain this won't be going in a collector's cabinet so, go get us some action shots.
We had the cottage next door !
Great spot, you will love it. Please report how you get on, we might go back.
Be VERY careful driving the last few yards. The road is only about a foot wider than your car.
Kevin,
I was there a few years ago with non fishing friends so had to grab my angling moments. Fished mid afternoon sometimes, when lots of canoes and other boats. Still managed to catch.
