I agree with John
I use a pair of 11’ Acolyte Plus with 2, 2.5 and 3oz tips and a pair of 9’ Acolyte plus with 1.5, 2 and 2.5oz tips. Both rods are rated up to 8lb line.
Lead and pellet, maggot feeders to 2oz, link and freelining, they do it all and are so light in the hand.
I use Ultegra 1000...

It’s a fantastic chub, tench and medium sized barbel rod for loaded 2oz feeders.
I also float fish with mine, a truly superb rod .
I would be happy to buy yours but having 2 already and distance makes it difficult to justify so good luck with the sale. 👍👍
I have a pair, came out before they made the number 2 so were just called specialist rods at 1.5lb tc. A fantastic rod at a great price.
I use mine for targeting large Chub on lead, feeder and float
Tri-Cast Trilogy Long Range Feeder rod
13 feet in length.
2 equal 6’ lengths and a foot long tip so it will fit in a normal 12’ rod sleeve.
Comes with the 2oz tip and a shortened and professionally repaired 1oz tip that is more like 3oz now as I’m keeping the other tips for my other tricast...

The spliced tip 13’ gti is ideal for trotting a small float as the tip section allows the light float to be flicked out and also cushions the strike for fine lines.
The Match Special was in the GTI range but a dedicated small fish, light line rod. Essentially a whip fitted with a reel.
The whip...
My rod for the same role is a Harrison 11' 6" Match Special float rod with a spliced tip fitted with a Trudex centrepin loaded with 2lb line for a total weight of 11oz in the hand and beautifully balanced.
I would definatly look for a spliced tip canal rod for float fishing and a Shimano...
It is a cracking rod and I would love to keep it but have way too much kit and tend to drift to using other set ups.
Although marketed for long range tench and bream its perfect for chub and barbel too and would make a great roving and touch ledgering rod as its nice and light due to reel...
