They have been cutting the weed on the Ivel this time of the year for as long as I can remember. Doesn't seem to affect the river too much. The greater problem is the abstraction of the upper river and sewage discharges.
I have a pair of Meindl Bhutan boots. Been worn plenty over the last few years for fishing and dog walking. They are comfortable to wear and to keep them waterproof I wax them once a year. They are expensive now, but I got mine in a Go Outdoors promotion for £99. Great bargain.

I have been using these bait pins and screws for a little while and find them easy to use, a lot less fiddly than hairs and baitstops with cold hands. These are Taska brand.

Yes it is. It is only 15 minutes from home and is one of the parts of the Vienne with relatively easy access close to home that I have found so far. I have had quite a few small Barbel from here and a couple of Carp.
It is a French bridge, over the River Vienne. I have no idea if it replaced a destroyed bridge, but apparently this area was close to the Vichy france/ occupied France border. I am hoping to find out more of the history of that time of this area. Also am starting to explore the fishing in this...
I have a pair of Woody Max Muck boots and they are lovely and warm worn with a good pair of socks. If you are going to be walking a lot in them I really like the Le Chameau boots, they are pricey but last for ages.
