Thank you that’s what I was trying to explain to people and you put it better the people who say barbel are always in slacks are wrong they will go to where the food is and if you need 8oz then so be it
I don’t know why people are so single minded about how other people should fish and their...
Oh god seriously who’s talking about a flood I am talking normal conditions
And fish always seek a slack well strange how they get caught in the flow also perhaps try fishing somewhere else I have been fishing for barbel for 45yrs now so maybe I know something about it
See you are fishing your way and that’s not always right for where the fish are located
I fishe the tidal Trent and sometimes I need to fish the far bank in the flow so then it’s 8oz with a bow in my line
I think it’s wrong to say to someone they are fishing with to heavier weight until you...
I bought these Socks with two 9000 batteries and wear them with my attic muck boots and on medium setting my feet are toasty (when air temp was 4c) I don’t fish overnight in the winter but fish til midnight at the most and turn these on when my feet start to get cold and the battery lasts for...
There is a pair of 11ft 1.75lb torrix rods on eBay if anyone is interested located in fleet but with delivery also
They are not mine but if they were 2lb t/c I would of had them myself
EBay link
Fish as you would normally I normally use a pva stocking with pellets and either a boillie or pellet on the hook
Sometimes using a feeder on the upstream rod to attract fish
Also I would take a maggot feeder and use maggots especially in the daytime and into dark and/or float rush for them
As from tomorrow a good proportion of the Trent is shut for angling due to low water the heat and low oxygen levels a lot of clubs have take the steps of shutting their waters
If you really feel the need to go (which I disagree with) you had better check wherever your heading is open
You also have foxcovert fishery where you can book pegs and park behind them although this is the tidal
Perhaps you might consider joining a club Notts Feds has some decent waters although a bit of a walk to pegs but they are decent stretches for about £60 a year
The club have reduced the fees to £15 for the next two years as a gesture with the option to make an extra payment to support restocking when they can
The club needs the support from members and £15 a year is a small price to pay
