Hi Colin, just saw your reply, sorry nothing to do with Essex Floats, my friend used to build/repair the rods for Simpsons in Turnford and had a lot of blanks from them when they were taken over by Angling Direct - I have to sort his garage out for him this week - who knows what is hiding in there!

Hi Mark, a bit late to the party, I have a pair of the 1.75's, I used them on the Trent on Wednesday, they happily chucked a 3oz loaded feeder most of the way across using 12lb line. Hope that helps! Lost one at the net but that's not the rods fault!!
