    Car for fishing

Sorry, didn't think of that! That's answered my question and more. Thanks

    Car for fishing

Hi all, a bit of a left field question really, does anyone use a Skoda Yeti for fishing - just wondering it would hold 12ft rods? Looking for a smaller car as I am restricted by the parking I have and the Yeti's size looks great but not sure about the interior dimensions. Any advice welcome, thanks.

    Advice for River Severn

We ended up fishing the Eardington stretch and did pretty well under difficult conditions, over 2 days we had 13 barbel and 7 chub, hope that the other fishermen in the hotel did better after we left!

    Advice for River Severn

Thanks John, I take it that we won't need a lot of weight for leads or feeders if this is the case, is it worth going a little lighter for leaders 8 instead of 10 or stay safe? Hopefully it won't be quite as hot at the start of next week!

    Advice for River Severn

Hi, after a bit of advice on the Severn, we are visiting on Monday and Tuesday next week, having never fished the Severn before we have joined the BAA and plan to fish their stretch at Hampton Loade - any advice on this or recommendations as to an alternative stretch would be greatly...

    B & B near the Trent

Hi, after a bit of advice, looking to take my son and one of his friend (in their 20's) for a trip to the Trent, probably in September, again probably either Fiskerton or Collingham (not the weir!) as it has to be day ticket, neither have fished for barbel before and have limited experience want...

    Specialist Rods (1.25-1.5lbtc)

Hi, coming a bit late to this, I bought a Daiwa Twin tip 1.25 during the summer for tench fishing, never used it! Tried it on the Upper Lea yesterday, if you are looking for something with a nice through action but surprising amount in reserve it might be worth a look, good value to.

    Bulk hemp

Going off on a bit of a tangent I know - have you ever used the flavoured pellets from Kent Particle, seem good value?

Placed to stay / river Wye

Another vote for the Inn on the Wye - the prices have shot up this year though! Food is really good there as well.

    Scunthorpe Amalgamated Anglers

Thanks for all your comments on this, I will have to give it some thought - I am about 2 hours from the Trent so whatever I do I hope to be worth the trip. I have only fished the day ticket stretch of Fiskerton so far with decent results - might just concentrate on that for another season.

    Scunthorpe Amalgamated Anglers

Hi I was wondering if anyone fishes the Scunthorpe Amalgamated Anglers waters, already looking for something new next season, I fished the Trent a few times on day ticket this season and was looking for decent priced season ticket as its a bit of a long trip and will only use it a handful of...

    Okuma inception 6000

Hi Tim, thanks for the detailed breakdown on the reels - how do they compare in size to the current 6000 shimano bait runners?

If You Could Offer One Tip...

Enjoy every trip, you never know what life has in store for you round the corner. Feeling a bit mortal at the moment, someone I have fished with has just had a stroke and looks as though fishing is on hold for quite a while. Sorry don't won't to put a downer on things!

    If Only

Would have to be King's Weir - the river stretch in the late 70's early 80's. Real golden days, nothing too big but where I learnt my 'trade'!

    Korum Graphite Brolly Shelter

I have taken a punt on the Korum, everything is like rocking horse p** at the moment, you can't afford to look round. I will try to repair my old brolly for uneven ground!

    Korum Graphite Brolly Shelter

Hi, I was wondering if any one has any experience of this, my current brolly is coming to the end of its natural life and I am looking to replace it, the Fox one looks good but the price seems a little steep! Any advice welcome.

    Free spirit rod choice?

Hi - I have the spirit specialist in 11 and 12ft lovely rods to fish with - I have even used them on the Wye, a friend has the tamer rod and I believe the specialists are a more through action rod. Hope that this helps.

Wishing you all a Happy Christmas

Happy Christmas to one and all - best message must be to stay safe over the next few months. Hopefully the fish will still be there next season - but with less anglers (hopefully)
