    FUTURE FISHING - It’s been saved !!!

Apparently this has collapsed and Future fishing will not continue. https://www.facebook.com/share/p/Ur8Wqwgb2CAZuaCE/

Loss of fish haunting - redemption

We all have our opinions Damian and that is all they are. I don't get angry just frustrated at times. I guess if I were that concerned about holding a fish up for a 'trophy' shot, I'd play more golf!

Loss of fish haunting - redemption

I carry and use a mat on every trip. I use a korum fast mat with sides to protect the fish even more than a normal flat mat. I also hold my fish up for self take photos ( over a mat and low to the ground) In 50 years of angling I can honestly say that I have never harmed a fish in my life...

    Bank Tackle Backlead Adaptors.

I too use the bank tackle absailer clips but find the need to cut the rubber sleeve down to clip on easier and quicker. Used in conjunction with the 1 oz saucer back leads without the 's' clip they make a great combination.

Compact camera with flip round screen

A super camera which I bought brand new many years ago. I still have it and carry in my fishing bag but seldom use these days in preference to my Samsung phone. Flip screen and infrared remote made this camera the best of its kind in my opinion at the time.

    Gardner hydro tuff

Chris, I've been using it for the last 2 seasons. I used to swear by GR60 but the Hydro tough is far superior. Very abrasion resistant and doesn't curl up and hang like a broken spring. You won't be disappointed. Hope you're well and have a great Xmas. John

    Wellies

So many people swear by these and yet my experience with them having tried 3 pairs is awful. On 2 of the pairs the sole came away within 18 months and the other pair leaked. I bought a pair of the fortis 2 years ago and they are superb albeit a little heavy...

    Centrepins in the rain.

I am not one that swears by the use of centre pins Andrew. In fact, I believe they have no advantage over a fixed spool whatsoever. I just enjoy using them and the wake up call they give me. If I'm fishing further out or in a small hole in the weed where I need to feel that 'donk' down I will...

    Centrepins in the rain.

I only have a pair of the Pete Reading centre pins. They do have an adjustable drag which when tightened up are generally okay with the Avon flow.

    Centrepins in the rain.

Never had a problem using a pin Andrew. If the pin is grating when you reel in it would suggest that it requires a drop of oil. If the ratchet isn't strong enough and it continues to click off in the current then try using a rod attached line clip. I only barbel/chub fish with mine on the lead...

    Korda kaptor curve shank

I too bought loads of these as my favourite the Korda wide gape in size 12 have been discontinued. I bought them in size 12 and 10 and also the kaptor wide gapes in the same sizes. Very sharp like the Kamakura hooks. Just check the point on every cast like I always do anyway. I've fished 2...

    B & B near the Trent

No complaints about this place I've stayed at. They even have a room for 3 singletons which works out very reasonable. Pub a short walk away with good food. https://www.booking.com/hotel/gb/the-white-dove-bed-and-breakfast-47-newark-showground.en-gb.html?aid=7977114

    Missed hook ups

Possibly chub. More likely eels if they are about. If a barbel picks up any half decent rigs the hook goes home.

Afraid to say the Billy and his mates are very unlikely to leave 2 certain stretches of the Avon  Nice write up :)

    Winter bib & brace

I bought the bib & brace but opted for the 'smock' as opposed to the zip up coat. Very happy with these garments, both warm, dry and comfortable. I also bought the summer (unlined) bib & brace for the warmer months. Worth every penny and love the thick padded knees for the odd occasion I am...
