If you do buy the Jag vice, the head unscrews and the files can be stored in the main body of the vice.
I'm sure I've also seen a Jag vice kit which includes the vice, files and a jewellers style magnifying eyepiece too.

With regards to walking the banks at Throop, there are areas where the public can walk...
Southwick to the Royalty or any stretch of the Stour is still some considerable distance! I would suggest it would take you an hour of travelling in each direction.
Another tip I'd suggest you may wish to consider is to wind a bit of insulation tape around the bottom of the handle (the bung end).
I've found that when I'm screwing my pole into my net, this end rubs on the ground and with the friction, it can become loose or even unscrew itself. obviously...
Cheers guys, as has been said, my 6.11 was enormous and must at peak weight be a big 7, it was quite empty and should come out nearer to end of the season as a good 7lb'er I'd have thought.
Paul the one you are talking of is the updated model. The one that will is talking of consisted of a round piece of plastic about the size of a 1p coin and on one edge it had two pegs at about 1/4" spacing apart and 180 degrees opposite this were another two pegs that were spaced about 1/8"...
