Having this problem on my Duralite. Cant get to the locking plate. The housing is fixed to the leg. Anyone managed to fix or is it case of sourcing a new one??

Just had to order a new plastic tightening bit (technical term) due my heavy handedness. As others have said beware of overtightening - otherwise its mega!!

Daiwa XP's are mint rods. Current favourite is a 15ft Shimano Specimen Float. Control and power!

Dave, some good answers already. I've got an 11ft Torrix 2lb TC. Dave Lumb built it for me, and in my eyes the best Nidd rod I could have. I've tried a few. Plenty of power for when hit and hold is needed, but with flex a plenty to deal with the unexpected lunges. If you want a waggle let me know!

Daiwa XP are mega. Other choice is a Shimano 45spc. Make sure its a 30g CW version. Both work really well, or have for me!
