I have this one from Davis Tackle, lovely rod & I have had Barbel up to 14lb on it. Can't comment on what weight it will cast as I only use it for rolling meat.

Hi Jeff
Hopefully I will be there Jeff, I have my wife's carer booked to cover 4 nights so that's sorted. Kim has been through a bad patch the last month but is much better at the moment so if she carries on ok, I will be there. :)
Don't mind where we eat as long as we can have a laugh &...
As long as Kim is ok (had a lot of problems lately but not too bad at the moment) I will be there. Hoping to get down for a couple of days later this week as not been able to wet a line since mid December!
Sad day indeed but unfortunately it has been the pub with no beer for a while now, so when in Christchurch I now use the Railway just up the road.
Count me in for the curry Jeff, be great to catch up & have an evening of fine dining & sophisticated conversation!!!

"Barbel fishing is becoming carp fishing on a river".
Unfortunately, have to agree with you on that old boy!
Hopefully see you & Cat on the bank (or in the pub) soon...Kev x
On blob Jeff? :D
18 months ago I had my PB which was a little bigger than Jeff's PB :p....great for the bragging rights in the pub with your mates but to be honest I'm happy with any Barbel & the smaller one's put up the best scrap!
I also have the Bison's, purchased last October from fishingmad paid £100 for the waders & wading boots. They have had a lot of use & still holding up well. for this sort of money if you find waders are not for you, not to much has been lost!
Love it when the forecast is heavy rain as it keeps most people away then I have the Royalty to myself to roll meat through all the swims! Invest in good quality breathable chest waders & wading jacket to stay 100% dry, the only down side is trying to roll a fag, but then a plus again as that is...
