    Float Rod Problem

All Keith ever put on his rods was furniture polish, Mr sheen/pledge. Doing this a couple of times a year is all you need along with the odd rap on the rod butt when it's raining. His diaflash still has the rings it was supplied with as well. They haven't been changed, I just checked it.

    Fox Barbel recovery tunnel

The tube above is a fox pike tube, I have one. If you want a tube for barbel find a framed one, far less chance of the fabric closing in on the fish. Something along the lines of the original et pike tube or better still one of the copies of of a queenford retention sack. I got one new from...

Shakespeare Mach 3 15 foot float rod - can it handle barbel?

I had one and landed barbel to a little over 15lb on it without to much trouble. It will be fine if you have some room but not if you need to stop them reaching snags. Will be fine for your home river but won't be great for long trotting on the Wye, not tippy enough for that. If you get one...

    Hook pull / bumped fish

Mark is spot on with his answer. Knowing where Dave is fishing it happens all the time on there. You will land the odd one if the hook finds the pectoral fin, but most just bump off.

    Roach on the Berry

Mark i can assure you lots of the barbel there have been caught on berry, Keith and i used to fish hemp and berry for the roach. We caught more than our fair share!. To give the roach a chance you have to feed twice each put in, first heavy for the barbel to follow then lighter for the roach to...

    Preston innovations carbonactive float asaki

The 13 footer is fine for that bit of river. But it's not the one if you are looking to fish for doubles, go for 12'9.

The Only Way To Catch A Barbel?

Simon why don't you do us all a favour and keep your opinions to yourself, you clearly have an issue with light line fishing as a crime against barbel even though went done in the right conditions it is absolutely fine. Do you see us doing it when the water is the temp high and when the oxygen...
