    Big Boots for Big Boys

Paul, I have a pair of Hunter Walking Boots (cant remember the 'Model') which have served me well for around 8 years now.........I can't seem to find them online any longer. Brasher do some very good boots and it may be worth a look on a few shooting forums..........

    Big Boots for Big Boys

I wouldn't pay too much mate, that's a lot of monies worth to leave in the mud up The Somme !! Decent walking boots all day, every day as far as I'm concerned !!

What reel line should i use?

Pretty good post Roger. I'm pretty sure that Supplex is meant more as a Match Style line and aimed at float fishing ? Although I could be getting confused with another line. For Barbel fishing mainline, go for something tough and 'Traditional Monos' tend to suit this category better. My personal...

    Reel recommendations

I have a Drennan Series 7 Float Reel and for the limited time I've used it, it seems a nice reel. The clutch is pretty irrelevant to me, as I very rarely use one whilst trotting.......

    Roach

The Roach at Britford are stunning !! As are the Dace !! Great venue and good value day ticket. Saw the biggest Bream I've ever seen in the Old River below the sewage outfall, absolutely huge !!

    River carp tips

My two-pennarth for what it's worth :- I do understand the sentiment behind not naming stretches, but if you are not willing to share, say nowt.....................If you are, do what I do and send a PM. The Lower Severn is a huge river, you could be fishing the wrong part of the right swim...

    slim blank

Good post Bob, having owned 12 Foot Torrix and now I-Powers, I could instantly tell that the I-Power was a 'Heavier Blank'. BUt then that's what I like..............Feels SO powerful......... Rod choice is very personal and we all like different actions etc.

    WHATS this ?

A couple of my mates caught what they thought were some huge Rudd from a canal in Ireland, you should've seen the devastation on their faces when I told them that they were Bream/Rudd Hybrids (lovely fish all the same !!)

    WHATS this ?

Golden Rudd !! Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't a Golden Orfe basically an ornimental Ide ??

    Nut baits for barbel

I've often wondered if Barbel would take them, tried and never had a touch on them......I am led to believe that big Chub are partial to them !?!? As an aside, do crays take milk protein baits as readily as meaty ones ?? I've never tried them on a river with crays in..........

Common Courtesy and the half way rule

Exactly Mark !! If I were THAT desparate I would set up a swim or 2 above him and fill it in.......... However, it all reality, I would walk on and fish elsewhere........ If you drop in opposite someone already fishing I'm afraid you should expect the inevitable !! As I've said I wouldn't move...

Common Courtesy and the half way rule

Adrian, please stop trying to be provocative !!! I am a very reasonable person and if I walked to my favourite swim, only to find someone else there, I may mumble 'balls' or words to that effect under my breath, I may even exchange pleasantries with comments to enquire as to how he was getting...
