Thanks for the offer Tim, but I'm pretty set on an 11ft'er

Drennan Puddle Chucker Carp feeder as a chub rod?

I'm in the market for a second hand 11ft feeder rod for small / medium river chub fishing. My first thought was a drennan series 7 1.25lb avon twin tip but they dont seem to come up very often. I don't really need the avon top as I have a harrison avon that does that job. So that got me...

The Bearded Tit's Podcast - Returning Sturgeon to Britain

It's not as far fetched as it might appear. They are migratory and are being re-stocked in France and Germany. There have been catches in our coastal waters. The podcast is interesting, well worth a listen.

    Tench 2024

Yay, after quite a few sessions this spring chasing after tench with only bream to show for my troubles. I finally managed to get a couple. I'm delighted.

The Bearded Tit's Podcast - Returning Sturgeon to Britain

I've been listening to this pod cast to today whilst failing to catch any tench. I found it intriguing so thought I'd share. In this podcast Jack speaks with three guests from the UK Sturgeon Alliance in the form of Jenny Murray from Blue Marine Foundation, Hannah McCormick from London...

Jeez, it was hard enough to justify a ticket as it was. I was going to renew but I'm doubtful now.

    Flipping Mouse

The net has arrived safely, is pretty much the same as the old one and has been fitted ready for a trip to the river tomorrow. Fingers crossed that the new curse doesn't strike. Thanks again Lewis, you are a star!

    Flipping Mouse

That's very kind of you Lewis. Mine had a black mesh, I'm not sure If they did different colours or not. I need a replacement regardless and prefer triangular ones, so if you have a net that you don't need anymore I'll happily take it off your hands for a few quid rather than buying new.

    Flipping Mouse

Flipping mouse has eaten my middy specialist landing net. I'm gutted, I must have had it 20+ years and it's been excellent. I particularly liked that it had some lead stitched into the bottom which helped with netting. Long shot but does anyone know of any replacement nets that are weighted...

Fresh brewed coffee on the bank

I'm with you on the Clipper organic Joe, it's a lovely brew. When i'm home and can be arsed, better still is loose rolled breakfast tea from brewteacompany https://www.brewteacompany.co.uk/collections/all-products/products/english-breakfast-loose-leaf-tea

I'm in a similar boat Simon. I didn't mange to persuade my mate to rejoin this year. I fished plenty in the summer through to early autumn. The result, zero barbel and a less than normal amount of chub. It's going to be hard to justify the cost of the ticket to myself next year. The guest...

oohh at last its hit the fan !!!!!!!!!!

The wording of that last post from Martin is Politian style double speak. 'I don't believe the footage shows me re-hooking' is about a million miles away from saying that I didn't and haven't in the past. I'm quite disappointed. I guess that i shouldn't really be surprised that this sort of...
