    36inch replacement deep mesh

I did clock you recommending these in the past, the net looks just the job. Unfortunately it seems they’ve stopped selling them.

    36inch replacement deep mesh

Happy Christmas all, I hope the port and mince pies are treating you all well. Does anyone have any recommendations for a 36inch replacement mesh? Ideally a good bit deeper than the standard Drennan Specialist one. I find it a bit small for conveniently resting barbel, particularly when bank...

Having a look on Mark Tunleys Facebook it sounds like that there will be, just further down the line.

Wanted - Harrison SU 11ft Avon

Although just to be clear, I’m not that fussy, Dave kindly said he had a 4 piece and a silver wye button is just not for me. Any standard cork handle would do the job.

Wanted - Harrison SU 11ft Avon

Thats my next stop Rich 👍 I do like the idea of one with a screw down reel seat for centrepin use. Weirdly, although I do like the 11ft 1.75lb Torrix I bought a year or so back, I have changed my tune and decided I am not a fan of it with the centrepin.

    The new Harrison specialist blank

The ability of my Aviator Flex to both cast and play fish nicely is almost hard to believe. They're still enjoyable to catch a 6lb tench on despite being rated at 3lb 2oz. Sometimes when playing one I've thought, this would be amazing if they did a scaled down version. It will be interesting to...

Hi Alec, I’m not especially keen on the Peregrine builds, thank you though.

Wanted - Harrison SU 11ft Avon

Hi Derek, the blank looks the same as the Standard Specialists. I am hoping the action will be similar and in 11ft. Dave Lumb describes the SS as 'Compound action with a tip that bends easily into a progressively stiffer butt while retaining a through action.' From what I've read that...

Wanted - Harrison SU 11ft Avon

Evening all If anyone has one of these they wouldn’t mind parting with feel free to pop me a message. I’m after the 11ft 1lb10oz/ 1.6lb, I believe it is referred to as the SU Avon. Thank you

    which loop knot ?

For fluro, it’s a perfection loop knot for me. I’m happy with a fig 8 or double overhand on mono but wouldn’t be happy with it at all for fluro. I had similar issues losing fish on fluro and have lost all confidence in fluro loops but for the perfection.

    Daiwa SS1600

Yep discontinued apparently. I just sold mine and bought a pair of shimano 6000 OC. I do like the ss2600 more but there is something so convenient about a baitrunner on the river, particularly if using two rods and it’s dark. I couldn’t afford to keep both but will miss the clutch, weight and...

    Footwear Advice

Scarpa SL Active, I'd like another pair but my first did me for 6 years of hard use. Mainly in the mountains but they were also great on the river. Personally I prefer a wellie when fishing, mainly because I'm lazy but a good boot is hard to argue with. They are a proper leather boot and if you...

    Stuck in a rut?

The lower Severn is quite good for birding, I haven't seen anything unusual but groups of long tailed tits, sparrow hawks, owls, starlings, skeins of geese. There's a lowland feel to it that is very different from the Wye. Having moved, I've been enjoying the Ribble recently. Oyster catchers...
