Tony, Day ticket stretches of the Avon are a bit thin on the ground. There is the LAA water @ Britford - there are barbel in there but not in great numbers. Alternatively, Christchurch offer a week holiday ticket, which gives access to all their waters - full details on their website...

Middle Avon is about 20 mins away for me with the Stour (Throop) perhaps another 10 mins, so not too bad and still affordable….just!! Only longer trip I make these days is an annual close season outing to Marsh Farm which is around 60 miles and an hour or so each way, traffic permitting. Dave

Just the two for me, Ringwood and that middle Avon syndicate. These cover all my river fishing needs handsomely with the syndicate also offering some solitude and beautiful surroundings which almost defeat the need to catch anything, although I am still trying! Dave
