Richard, generally at this time of year head upstream to the higher peg numbers. At the beginning of this week the barbel may have been spawning according to a couple of Scunthorpe members I spoke to on the opposite bank.
I have a number of old chair legs lying around. The mice got at a pair of chairs and the legs were all that were salvageable. They are all 3/4” or 18mm dia. If they’re of any use you can have a set for the price of postage.
I store my rigs on a Korum rig board so they are “bent” two or three times. Although they are misshapen when I remove them from the board I find that they are perfectly straight after the first cast and being exposed to the current for a few minutes.
The adverts didn’t really bother me but the discussion made me think about it so I downloaded the Ad-blocker pro app for my iPad & iPhone and I am now ad free. I also use the PC version on my desktop.
What are you actually concerned about Lee? I owned one for a short while but sold it because it was so heavy. That said it was rock solid and I’ve never heard others complain about it, quite the contrary.
I’ve had mine for over a year now and it’s still super springy. It’s really useful on the sloping banks of the Trent but could probably benefit from a couple of pegging loops as it will slide downhill with a lively fish in it. That said you can put a peg through the spring loops.
