The 'EVA' (ethylene vinyl acetate) is the generic, whilst 'Duplon' is a specific form (i.e. it's a type/polymer/isomer) of EVA. EVA is a 'synthetic rubber' and can be very hard or very soft, and each grade will be produced with a specific or suggested end-use in mind.

I totally agree. Let's say I'd got an aversion/intolerance/fear of lobworms so I asked a friend to bait my hook with one for me, then I cast that bait out on a rod that I had rigged up myself. I use #2 or #4 Gripz .... really sharp, stay sharp, much easier to remove from a barbel ... but I've not lost a single barbel/fish using these.

IMO ....If you want 'waterproof', and breathable then it's going to be expensive, it'll need looking after (washing/re-proofing/re-activating), and it will leak after a while (especially at the seams). I now use a Snugpak Patrol Poncho (under £40) ....100% waterproof, needs no care, can be worn...
