    Coarse Angling Today

Hurgz, I have corrected the more obvious errors in your brief post. Regards, R. :)

Why oh why, the usual suspects

Unbelievable, isn't it? Apparently, all that praise is "embarassing". R.

    River wye ice thaw

Pah! You're all soft, lager-drinking Southerners - that looks like a normal summer's evening on a Northern river!

    Congratulations Keith....

Go fishing Neil - you may find it therapeutic. R.

    Congratulations Keith....

I see no repetition - only many people expressing similar heart-felt congratulations for a superb piece of angling. Personally, I would imagine Keith to be big & ugly enough to cope without your intervention! ;) R.

    Edgar sealey 12ft fishing rod

I had a Blue Match when I was a kid. It met it's demise when I was too lazy to break it down before coming home one day and simply strapped it along the crossbar of my bike. I followed my usual route home, and turned onto the pavement just before home. By the time I realised that the 13ft of...

    Winter Barbel

Heh, yes - there are a lot of stats there. I think you've probably answered my main query regarding switching off when temperature rises. I shall continue to study your graph and will get back if I have further questions. Thanks - great stuff! R.

    Winter Barbel

Ray, That's a fantastic graph. What did you deduce from it? Looking at it myself, I can't see any particular correlation between conditions and catches, other than it slows down in the colder months. And maybe that you caught more in the colder months when the river is up and coloured...

    Crazy River - last knockings

Steve, That's a little harsh. I don't think that a failure to correct a passing comment like that could be construed as a lack of graciousness. R.

    Crazy River - last knockings

Both Fred & Haydn have beat me to it. I too much prefer Paul's chapters. That's not to say Jeremy is a bad writer, but I prefer Paul's style. Now young Paul, if I could only get you to sign my copy alongside Jeremy's autograph... R.

August Fish of the Month sponsored by Pallatrax

The Thame fish is superb, but my allegiances must remain with Northern rivers! So, the Ure fish it is - good photo too. R.

    Muck Boots

Andy, I have the Spey, and to be honest, they are possibly a little too warm for mild weather. I presume you're looking here: http://discountwellies.co.uk/MuckBoot.asp R.

Rod and reel found - middle Severn

I would agree. Ah, how sanctimonious are the "barbel police". Have a search on the old forums to see how I was treated when I had mine pulled in - it starts somewhere here: http://barbelfishingworld.yuku.com/reply/221054/t/Re-Yorkshire-Ouse.html And how two-faced - one prominent member...

I reckon it was Mike, lurking in the bushes behind you, and having a crafty bite as you cast! :)

Touch Ledgering - is it worth it?

Guys, This whole thread and others like it are all about *opinion*. If someone posts a question actively soliciting opinion then don't be surprised if they actually get several different opinions in the same thread. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and that may include having a...
