    6th Annual Ousemeisters Barbel Challenge

Actually, the Ouse is filled from a surprisingly wide catchment area so there may be hope... Keep an eye on the EA website. http://www.environment-agency.gov.uk/homeandleisure/floods/riverlevels/120701.aspx?stationId=8140 R.

    6th Annual Ousemeisters Barbel Challenge

Hi all, I shall of course be there, defending my hard-earned Tommy Trophy! Steve, you're obviously a beginner - any competent Ruffe angler knows that small hooks are not needed; I find size 6, long-shank, with a couple of lobworms works best :D R.

Barbel Stocks-What do we do next?

I'm no expert, but I would say that there's no point re-stocking anything (barbel, otters, whatever) without doing something to address the root causes of the population decline. And once you've done that then there would be no need to re-stock as the population would grow again naturally. R.

Seer 10" River Stalker rod built on Harrison blank

Hmmm, £12 per inch. Seems a bit pricey to me...

    Congratulations Keith....

I tried that theory once. It was the same session my rod went in, the fish I lost just before. It was going like a train so I slackened off hoping it would stop, but it didn't and rushed into the nearest snag and got stuck solid! R.
