Hi bill many thanks. I was aware my fish was a male and Nathan’s 5lb14 fish a female
Indecently i miss quoted the weight of his fish in my post it was 5lb14oz and not 6.14 🙄
Interestingly my fish look bigger but over a lb lighter. We always weigh our fish for our own records and get a feel for...
Iam enjoying this thread bill 😬 there’s some fantastic fish being caught 🎣
we had another crack at the tench at our local club lake, I’d arranged to meet my son there as our days work had been postponed so we thought we’d take advantage.
It not very big lake, it has a island in the middle.
Today...

I use commercial baits and make my own. There’s no doubt catching on a bait you’ve made yourself is extra special.
I’ve used my own bollie type baits to catch carp to 40lb+,chub and tench.
My son been using my bait tench fishing since closed season he’s after a 6 lb fish Local club lake,
He’s...
A barbel of any size from the d/stour and h/Avon would be nice next season 😉
I managed to improve my chub pb to 6lb 1oz had another at 6lb numerous 5’s
Didn’t do any roach fishing must put that right to better my 2lb2oz fish
River targets next season 🤞 improve on the above👍
Stillwater been...
I don’t have a favourite swim. the river for me is where it all began in the 70s the river colne Uxbridge.
As school lads we fished it all the time and it’s where I took my sons to teach them, nothing beats it👍
Hi Richard thanks for the fantastic post and very generous of you to give such a comprehensive build breakdown.
I cast and coat all our leads for carp fishing. Iam definitely going to give your feeders ago.
Maybe feeders made out of a roll of mesh should see me out🤣
I’ve got the Korum triangle folding net, I liked the idea but I found that when I used it the arms were weak.
If like me anyone giving a underarm swing to remove debris or excess water you will fine the arms bend due to them being of tube construction.
I’ve since gone back to my old Korum net...
Check and check again that you’ve got everything before you set off. Meeting my son on the d/stour a few months ago i forgot my landing net. he got me one from the tackle shop on his way.
Also I left my reading glasses behind the other week couldn’t see any thing with in arms reach😂
I found myself watching you tube a fair bit over the last year.
Ones that spring to mind are
Ta fishing
Kenny parsons
Avon angler
Carl and alex
Terry Hearn (fantastic scene setter and story teller)
Dave lane (as above blog style)
The carp catcher (blog style) back catalogue very good for hits...
