Not sanctimonious, just my view I was not preaching or trying to get people to change into the church of plastic cages. Stuart how so what I do not understand your question mate.

I did say additional damage... I remember a topic about the use of the sea ledger weights beign used with metal splines being dangerous to fish at what level do you say "its fishing" dead fish perchance?

I tried paste springs back last year although successful in catching fish the amount of times the coil snagged in the landing net and came unsprung was not good. I am not sure it could cause possible additional damage to the mouth of a fish. I have gone to plastic since.

Just as a note! not wishing to raise arguments etc all coarse fish are cold blooded so this would mean all fish would be the same. We all know that Chub and Grayling will feed in the harshest of condtions.
Just thought I would add that into the melting pot!
Will the magazines still use his articles? where is the moral high ground with them? Is this the same as a well known pike angler caught smuggling live baits into Ireland? I don't see any negative long term effect to him.
