Precision Polarised Glasses vs ESP Stalker

Sorry not had the ESP ones to compare, but big fan of the precision glasses. Comparable to my oakleys that I use for mountain biking in terms of comfort. Better quality lenses than my previous two pairs (fox, tfg).

    Undergunned?

    Interesting, thanks

    Undergunned?

Richard, Does that mean that in theory the exact opposite situation would be true - soft tip and a faster action would be more suitable for lighter hooklengths, or where hookpulls are a possibility (not talking barbel here)? I.e. the soft tip absorbs lunges and shocks while the stiffer action...

    A good little site....

Its useful for deciding whether to pack the brolly, but i mostly use it for other things, like deciding whether to go up the malverns on the mountain bike on my lunch hour..

    Advice Please

Richard, You need to understand the relationship between the fish population and the food they eat. If your feed is not in tune with the scene under the surface then you will at worse only scare the fish, at best achieve poor results. My theory is that the fish are well fed and spread out...

    Advice Please

Sounds like prime bloodworm habitat too. Imagine that, one big snail and bloodworm bed. Little wonder they are spread out if they only have to yawn in order to fill their chops with natural food. Good thinking ;)

    x line

I use Catana in 10lb (breaks at 16lb). Great stuff. Sinks, dull colour, great BS to diameter.

    Advice Please

I'll bite, again, I'm a mug-fish. But I will keep to the spirit of the thread. Richard, What is more important even than Walkers 5 laws? It is simple and impossible to understand, and forever changing. :)

    Advice Please

Having read the other replies I'm unsure if there is some water under the bridge and wonder whether this topic is 'for real'. Anyhow. There are two variables in competition for food, the first is the competition, the second which I feel you have overlooked slightly, is the food. All I can say...

    Advice Please

I think competition for food is the key here.

That's settled it, one rod is going on the dead-bait this weekend.. :)

Mark, I definitely feel confident with a live bait swimming around, but, I've also had success using casters, an inert bait, and have heard about - but not caught myself - dead baits and prawns being very effective. Will, interested to know what made you choose braid? Spider wire is braid I...

Nice simple running rig Clive. No need to be clever on the river.

Wanted Fox Specialist 12ft 1lbTC Rods or light feeder rods

Dean, fosters are doing good prices on korum precision rods. I have a pair of multi feeder rods and love them but they are quite progressive in action and not what most perch anglers recommend.

    Perch

I fish a light bobbin on a long drop and strike as soon as the steady rise of the bobbin starts. That said I have had quite a lot of missed bites on the current venue, which I believe are small perch. I've also had a couple deep hooked despite striking as early as I can. So would be...

Re hooks have a look at kamasan b983 in size 4, or Korda mixa size 6. Good old super specialist in size 4 or 6 also good.

Howard are you getting bites but missing them? Or just not getting any takes? (On livebaits)
