Its useful for deciding whether to pack the brolly, but i mostly use it for other things, like deciding whether to go up the malverns on the mountain bike on my lunch hour..

Richard, You need to understand the relationship between the fish population and the food they eat. If your feed is not in tune with the scene under the surface then you will at worse only scare the fish, at best achieve poor results. My theory is that the fish are well fed and spread out...

Sounds like prime bloodworm habitat too. Imagine that, one big snail and bloodworm bed. Little wonder they are spread out if they only have to yawn in order to fill their chops with natural food. Good thinking ;)

I use Catana in 10lb (breaks at 16lb). Great stuff. Sinks, dull colour, great BS to diameter.

Dean, fosters are doing good prices on korum precision rods. I have a pair of multi feeder rods and love them but they are quite progressive in action and not what most perch anglers recommend.

Re hooks have a look at kamasan b983 in size 4, or Korda mixa size 6. Good old super specialist in size 4 or 6 also good.
