Mark I haven't used them for barbel simply because they look like a carp rod and I have a pair of the sonik 2.2s that I use on the rivers. At a guess the may be the martin bowler barbel rods dressed up differently but who knows. I have a prototype drennnan 2lb tench rod that is exactly the same...
15ft acolyte plus would be the perfect rod, if you want to spend a bit less then a cadence cr10 as said above
there not that much new https://www.cadencefishing.co.uk/product/cadence-cr10-15ft-match-rod/
better choice than buying second hand
I reckon you will be alright with braid and big reels, be worth trying. The drennans to be honest are a hefty 2lb rod with big well spaced eyes so they cast very well even with mono
with braid easy but a struggle with heavy mono, my mate uses them but after a session on linear where we both had to cast 70yds with mono he really struggled with the torrix compared to the new drennan tench and bream 2lbers what I was using. for me they are more of a river lobbing it out rod...
You have to celebrate Christmas the best way you can that suits yourself.
Me I'm out fishing at linear, on my favourite swim, whole lake to myself(hunts)
Last night a 9lb tench and 37lb carp.
Sorry but I'm after a 15lb bream so they don't count!
I've finally had to succumb to facebook Bill, it was a case of needs must for my match fishing. That's how I came across the RACG group on there but even on there's not a lot being said, pretty much the same question you asked with the answer being things are in the pipeline
I don't that's true as its open to anyone anglers and non angler(separate survey), this is from an email from my local fisheries chap.
"A message from Tom Sherwood. Please do take the survey and also forward on to any non-anglers as well. It’ll take less than 10 minutes of your time. If any of...

Coupon code for 4000 sized reel: black-4000
the new drennan specialist are out now and worth a look
https://www.drennantackle.com/products/rods/specialist-rods/specialist-11ft-twin-tip-duo-1-5/
the quiver tips are a bit beefy they supply it with but you can always get some lighter ones to suit your needs
I was there as well Bill but kept my wallet in my pocket. I did see you there but didn't know it was you. My mate bought a rod and reel and he was very happy with them and he's had top end daiwa for years. I think if there's any rod and reels I need in the future ill definitely look at cadence...
they only sell direct, not through shops which in theory gives the customer a better price on the products. so you can only buy from there website or road shows. at a guess he's not popular with tackle shops because they loose trade. The problem being seeing the kit before buying, but if you...
I wouldn't say he as instigated a charm offensive its just the way he is, some of my mates no him very well and he's a thoroughly decent guy selling good tackle at a very good price.
I own 3 of the feeder rods and I like them a lot, good solid bits of kit that do the job.
Comparing them to...
Saturday I decided to treat myself to 2 new rods, cadence 15ft and 16ft #2's specifically as big fish/big float rods. ordered them on line as you do, good price as standard.
Then last night I get a text from my mate Dougie to say this Thursday at Clanfield football club James Robbins will be...
I cant comment on the Harrison or daiwa rods as all my rods are drennan now. but if I was buying new rods again and would go with the 15ft acoylyte plus as an all round rod. Trees allowing its the first rod I get out the bag for the majority of my float fishing, the weight in hand is nothing and...
