Think I spent about £300 in Johnson Ross, mainly on braids, line, leaders and 20 packets of ESP size 4 long shank hooks prior to a Morocco trip.
On reflection I do spend at least £1500 a year on bits and bobs I reckon.
Pre-baiting nearly always gets good results in terms of numbers and size of fish caught. It worked for Richard Walker, works for Terry Hearn, and so it's good enough for me! Fair play if you put the effort in I say.
If I lived near to the Loddon where I choose to angle, I would be down there...
The new perch record of 6lb 2oz was in Angling Times yesterday - many congratulations to Neill, the captor by design - also no mean barbel angler. Top angling!
This season has been an enjoyable one for a few reasons.
I suppose the first is that I haven't put pressure on myself to actually catch any target barbel. This, as it turns out, has been rather fortunate! Although I normally really enjoy this approach I've enjoyed just being by a few different...
I'm sure they are well built enough. I had a play with one in a shop but they did seem small.
But not as small as the invisible and weightless barbel ive been catching lately..
