    There's plenty bigger out there, many rivers with 18 plus barbel now!!! Its anyone's guess which will hit 21-2 first!!! Ivel was very close last season.

    Literally tons of fish coming out of the Thames to trotted baits, I had two pike at 8 and 12lb to lures on Saturday, some great perch and chub coming to lures on the Pats too so plenty of variety to have a go at :)

    Between 10 and 20 minutes for me Mark, depending which river I fish..... I do travel a lot for other species, 14 hour round trip to Southern Scotland for example!!

    This year I'll be in the lakes eating Cumberland sausage, pies and chips with gravy, yum :D Come along to the open day chaps, it is a great day with great people in beautiful surroundings and everything is free, we can't do better than that. Bring a few friends too ;)

    Dave, Don't shoot the messenger, Ray asked a question and I gave the factual answer, to be honest, I would imagine the 6 miles off Coast is aimed more at salmon and sea trout fishing as far as enforcement goes!! You do seem to miss the point about being liable to catch freshwater species...

    Licence for estuary fishing

    Ray, you need a rod licence to fish for freshwater fish, eels, salmon and sea trout, for up to 6 miles out to sea. If you are fishing for sea fish, i.e. bass, and cannot be liable to catch licenced species, you do not need a licence.
