    Tench 2025

Lovely fish and superb reels Graham, not used mine since getting my Thunnus but loath to sell them….have you seen the price they’re fetching these days😳

    Greys and Cadence

Already been said but I also rate the Korum ruckbag and folding quivers….they got it spot on with these. Knowing that they have a habit of ‘upgrading’ their offerings (often with inferior models) I’ve bought one of each to have as spares

Barbel Under the Bridge - New Book

Yeah Adrian Busby is author I believe. He did a Fishflix with Martin bowler recently on the Ouse, comes across well

Barbel Under the Bridge - New Book

I have ordered a copy, nostalgic reasons. Very fond memories of both those stretches mentioned

    Which reel

4000d or OC are superb reels no doubt, and if choosing between the two stick with the cheaper OC as the difference in performance is negligible. But if you can spare the extra £ have a look at Thunnus 4000, more cranking power and the bearing assisted clutches are sublime…will probably cost you...

    3500b spools

After a couple of spare spools to go with the lovely reels I got from Rob which I’ll use for tench/carp…bit of a long shot but anybody have any they wish to sell…or know where to get some? Thanks

    Prebaiting

Just wondering what your thoughts and methods of prebaiting are? There’s a few spots on my local Ouse I know are frequented by a very small number of good sized Barbel, in previous years I would start baiting up 2-3 weeks before opening night with boilies and paste from my usual JBaker mix…and...

    Rigs

Hi Neil, I rarely use fluorocarbon but happy to make you up a couple of the basic rigs I use on the Severn. Can’t say they will be anything special , and I’m no rig expert (or any expert tbf 😂) and won’t be anything that you won’t find info on online etc, but they serve me well and I fully trust...

Nash Scope 10ft 1.75tc mint with Nash Scope 2 rod bag

Good luck with that Jim….the 1.75Ib have been out of production for some time and are very sought after…if you see any in stock give me a nod please

    Why Korum, why?

In terms of modern products I would put sonar technology adapted for the angling market (depth/fish finders) up there as a significant ‘game changer’ ….controversial maybe (so we’re swimfeeders once) but an innovation that has probably been responsible for many big fish captures, especially...

Nash Scope 10ft 1.75tc mint with Nash Scope 2 rod bag

Underrated and hard to find rods in the lower test curves👍

    Reel Servicing

I’ve sent s few reels Rich’s way for servicing, all older model shimano’s, and they’ve all come back feeling full of life again. Would fully recommend 👍

    Rod insurance recommendations

Have a look at your house contents cover first. I don’t have any stand alone insurance for tackle, mine is just covered with house contents insurance - I it covers sport equipment for breakages, fire damage and theft when in use or stored in an outhouse. Up to a total value of 10k and 1k per...

Shimano aero gt 6010 baitrunner reels

I’ll take these Rob please if not already gone….shall I pay via PayPal as before??

    Why Korum, why?

I get virtually zero tangles using these the way I do….I think a lot of tangles are from either not feathering the cast or not reeling in at a constant steady rate.

    Harrison gti and avons

Yep, GTi bends through the blank lovely but a lot more stopping power lower down than the Avon - this is comparing my peregrine gti with the 4 piece Avon ….not sure if the 2 piece Avon will have a different action but suspect not
