Just taken delivery of the 13ft Acolyte Plus. Have taken a few chub up to 4lb in snaggy swims and the rod has been a pleasure to use - power but sensitivity and perfectly matches my Youngs Centrepin. If I am lucky enough to hook a barbel I am sure it will cope with it. Steve

Spent a few hours today on the Dee at Bala. Pound plus grayling first trot and plenty more followed. Lots of river to explore and a reputation for big fish. I will return!

I've personally knackered two of the nets listed in the angler's mail review. I think that the price of the nets in this article tells you all you need to know about the build quality and likely lifespan. I agree with Dave Taylor's sentiments. Steve
