Thanks again for all the input.
Graham and Nick for your info I already have a pair of the Stradic 3000S reels which I use for float fishing on lakes paired
with my trusty old Graham Phillips Tench Float rods.
The Stradics have double handles and I fancy a single handle reel for constant...
Many thanks for all the advice
Bit annoyed that I have had several 507s pass through my hands without ever trying them
Will probably look out for a TDX or if not a TDR
I guess the 3012 size would be the one to go for
I always use centrepins when trotting and absolutely love them. However I have recently started fishing a couple of stretches where I am not a good enough caster with a pin to reach the far tree line.
Barbel are not the target fish chub, roach and dace are what I am aiming for.
What fixed spool...
I use the ESP pouches and don't find the velcro too much of a problem though it is not perfect.
I also have the Drennan pouch but although the idea is good I find that due to iit's rigidity it is very uncomfortable getting in the way when I am bending down unhooking fish or going into my...
Just made donation to the website for Christmas
Many thanks and a wonderful festive season to all concerned in the running of the website
and to all members of BFW
Merry Xmas
Mike
I have the Summer Edition 2024 of Barbel Fisher the Barbel Society's publication when I was still a member.
I don't keep up to date with them as it seems everything is now done on Facebook and I don't subscribe to that.

Hi Matthew
Yes 10mm and yes one thumbscrew missing
Below are pics of hole measurement and the slimmest old bankstick I have
Click on to enlarge
As I stated previously will possibly use it to clamber up and down slippery banks
Thanks again
Thanks all
Matthew your suggestion may be the closest only problem the hole that is at the top end, not the side hole, is only 10mm I have lots of old slim banksicks but none as thin as 10mm.
Anyway will try and take it with me if I am fishing some slippery slopes on the Stour or when anfd if...
Going through my boxes of odds and ends I found this.
I guess the hole on the side towards the top is for a bar to screw the spike into the ground.
There is a hole at the very end but it's only 10mm in diameter which I think is smaller than an umbrella pole
so any thoughts please
Thanks Mike
I don't use facebook but I will get a friend to contact the seller though I am not sure if the quivers he has are the correct
type
but I will try
Mike
It's been nearly a year but I am still looking for the correct Drennan quiver tips
The ones I am looking for are the same model as the one shown below
As previously stated I need :
2 x 2oz Glass
3 x 2 1/2oz Carbon
25" in length
Another trick which I picked up from this forum a few years ago is after cleaning as described in previous posts push a tight fitting piece of silicone tubing over the metal point and then trim to fit. This opens the original locking bush a fraction so that it fits a bit tighter in the outer...
Interesting conversation but Tim why not zipped wellies? I have been using Le Chameau boots for more than 30 years and and absol;utely love the fully zipped style.
The twice yearly National Vintage Tackle is being held at the Abbey Stadium Redditch this Sunday 17th November
The basic times from 9am to about 12:30
Don't be fooled by the title as there will be some modern tackle available as well
A great chance to pick up some bargains and meet up with old...
