    Free to good home

Courtesy of cold fingers and a meeting with the garage floor I have surplus to requirements a spool for an Avon Crown Centrepin. I managed to break the shoe when it dropped but the spool is fine. Prior to dropping the damn thing it spun nice and free. If anyone has a use for this it’s yours for...

    LAST REDUCTION £ 200 Diawa Theory Sp 4000 A x 2

I have a pair of the above very little used and in all honesty sitting gathering dust. Spare spools for both and original box and paperwork for one. I would describe both reels as excellent condition, one is literally like new, the other has a barely visible paint chip on the stem. I would be...

    Daiwa br25a vshimano 6000 oc

Hi I have the castizms and did have the shimanos. One of my Diawa stuck when new but Diawa fixed it free of charge. Both are great reels in their own right and I do prefer the castizms on my heavy rods for flood fishing, the wider spool gives a bit more cranking power against a heavy current. I...

    17/18ft float rod

Chris, have you considered the difficulties and potential for breaking a tip of using such a long rod with large powerful fish in heavy water when it comes to netting them, especially when wading the tip will be bent so tightly unless you use a very long net handle which itself becomes a...

Best reel For trotting when casting distance?

If you can’t find a tdx then a tdr is a good second, always coming up in the usual places and far superior to current tdm’s. Best model in my opinion is the madsealed version pre qd.

    Bloody typical

Earlier this year after much searching I managed to get hold of a mint 11ft series 7 puddle chucker pellet waggler rod to use for trotting on a small local river which holds some good sized chub amongst other things. Used it today, had a couple of small fish then got the tip stuck in a hawthorn...

    Crayfish

A mate believes that if you stamp on them, throw them back when dead two things happen. They eat each other and get a taste for it so reducing their numbers. Secondly fish start eating them and again develop a taste for them. If either is true it would help though surely not eradicate the...
